As we know, subohm tanks are very easy to use since you only need to fill them with eliquid and then you’re good to vape. However, the replacement coils for subohm tanks are quite expensive, such as SMOK TFV12 coil, V8 coils, V8 mesh coils, Uwell Valyrian Coils, etc. It becomes essential to learn some basic skills to make your coils last longer. About how to make your coils last longer, we have three suggestions for you.
- Use eliquid with less sweetener
E-liquids that have more sweeter tend to kill coils a lot faster. Picking eliquid with less sweetener is a bit tough because good e-liquids tend to have a lot of sweetener in them as it’s just the trade-off for a delicious eliqud. As for me, when I use a liquid that has a ton of sweetener I can get about anywhere from five to ten days out of a coil. But when I use eliquid that has little to no sweetener the coil can last up to two weeks.
- Use it under recommended wattage
Another way to make your coil last longer is to let it work within the recommended wattage range. All coils have a wattage range that you can be working between, but a lot of brands also specify a recommended wattage range, which will give you the best performance without absolutely killing your coil. First attempt to fire on your coils directly in the middle of the wattage range. For example, if the recommended wattage range is from 50 to 70 watts, fire the coil at 60 watts just to have a good medium between the two. But if you tend to go into the high end of the spectrum your coils will burn out a lot quicker. Besides, if you’re vaping a new coil, start with low wattage like 20 watts to take a few hits, then bump it up to 30 watts and repeat the process until you hit about 45-50w. In this way your coil has a bit of time to break in instead of bearing a huge amount of power all at once.
- Priming your coils properly
Priming your coils properly is an essential step to make your coils last longer. Basically what you need to do is whenever you are switching to a new coil, add a few drops into the center of the coil, and it will help the cotton absorb a lot of the juice and it will also eliminate any chance of a dry hit on the first hit. After priming your coil, put everything all together and fill up the tank and then let it sit for about five to ten minutes. So that the cotton can absorb as much juice as it can.
