Today we’re going to take a look at the loop RDA by GeekVape, which comes with an innovative w-shaped build deck and a surround airflow system.
Inside the package box there’s a GeekVape Loop RDA, you’ll also receive a bag full of spares, including spare sealing o-rings, spare flat-head grub post screws, additional squonk pin, an 810 drip tip, a 510 drip tip adaptor and a regular standard 510 delrin drip tip, user manual in a little envelope, a warranty card and a warning card.
The Geek Vape Loop RDA is a 24 millimeter diameter RDA with 34 millimeters in height counting with the included drip tip which is a removable drip tip that will be comparable with other atomizers with the same connection. The Loop RDA will also be compatible with other 810/goon style drip tips. The build quality of this top cap is just amazing. It is a stainless steel top cap with the air flow adjustment ring trapped in between as the cap is actually made of two parts and both parts are press fit together to trap the air. The airflow adjustment ring has just the perfect amount of restrictiveness it stays really well in place. It is also done in a different color. The whole cap is a stainless steel color cap but the airflow adjustment ring is kind of silver brushed color. You’ll have looping raised on one side absolutely nothing on the other side because this Loop RDA has both dual and single coil air flow configurations. So if you want to go with dual coil you should have the air flow on the other side and the same on the other side. If you want to go with single coil you open one of the air flows matching the side where you build your coil.
At the base is the protruding positive gold plated 510 connector. The barrel is pretty simple, there are two little tabs on each side that are aligned and falling into those slots. We have two slots on the build deck aligned with those slots. They’re going to lock in place no matter where you lock. When you actually spin the cap and it falls its notches into place. The cap won’t spin any more so that way the air flow always faces your coil.
The build deck is very unique as well. It is a w-shaped build deck with unique posts. The Loop RDA is compatible with either a dual or a single coil. When you build single coil you would need to close the airflow and go with the air flow only one side to be working with a single coil. The two posts surrounded with entire block is the positive posts. The screws on the side are flathead grub screws. These are not meant for those flat wire or flat coil though. So if you try to assemble flat wire coils or exotic coils that the leads are pretty much flat they will end up twisting your leads. You can still work out in your coil and it will probably be fine but I wouldn’t recommend to go with that type of coils on these RDA. It is still possible to work out those coils but not the best idea for those types of coils. Every single type of round wire coil will work fine here. As to the air flow you can see through each one of the sides that the airflow is fed by the top cap and then angle it down. There’s also a little opening underneath the place where your coil will be sitting. You can consider it pretty much as a bottom airflow. Even though the airflow still comes from the side, it is angled down to prevent leaking. The slanted center piece is for squonking. When you use it as a regular dripper you can drip straight from the top and once the liquid reaches the top it will go down into the juice well without interfering with the airflow and not coming through the airflow, so that makes the Loop RDA pretty much leak proof. The juice well of this Loop RDA is just huge, very deep juice well. To measure how deep it is you can try to unscrew the positive center pin and completely separate the the positive block. You can actually screw the provided squonk pin which is a phillips-head squonk pin that doesn’t have cutouts that go all the way out. With this style of squonk pins they won’t leave liquid inside of your mod’s 510 connector. The squonk pin is not drilled all the way up either. It actually has tiny holes on each side to only fill the reservoir underneath so you can kind of see this RDA as being an rdta style RDA. The juice well is almost seven millimeters deep.
To install your coils first you have to unscrew those post screws. No matter how long your leads are you have to pre-cut them and the way I do recommend to measure how much you have to trim from those leads is by sitting the coil in its coil position, then you can trim your leads aligned with the very top of the pyramid. Once you have both coils in place with the help of a coil jig, align those coils properly aligned with the build deck and the airflow, as much further into their coil slot as possible but still pulling them up just slightly for them to be spaced from any metal piece of this build deck to prevent any short. Make sure your coils do not touch the posts or any metallic portion of the build deck, otherwise you may end up having a short. As to wicking for a three millimeter diameter coil you can use two pieces of organic cotton anywhere between fourteen and fifteen millimeters. Peel each one of the skins and then roll your cotton strips and feed your coils then with something pointy fluff each end of your wicks trim your wicks aligned with the bottom of the RDA because the juice well is very deep. Then put them down and prime them. To put on the top cap, make sure you go with the airflow that best suits your built.
The Loop RDA is a really good quality, well-built, solid machined RDA. It’s definitely one of the best looking RDAs. The innovation on the build deck makes this Loop RDA pretty much a leak proof bottom airflow RDA, which actually hits the coil from the bottom. The flavor and vapor production is top notch. As the air flow actually hits the coil from underneath, the flavor definitely stands out and it’s definitely one of the best flavor RDAs. The build deck is such an amazing build deck with improvement over so many other rdas. Besides, it’s got pretty deep juice well. The fact that the cap locks in place and it never spins around the airflow is properly aligned all the time is definitely another pro.
As far as cons, I mainly have two cons for this Loop RDA. One of them is that it only comes with flat-head grub screws. And another con is that if you chain vape this RDA it gets really hot and uncomfortable to your lips.
