In this blog we’re going to show you how to clean your SMOK TFV12 Coils. In fact this cleaning method works for not just the SMOK TFV12 coils, but also all the other subohm coils.
When should you clean the SMOK TFV12 Coil head?
Usually when you see that your coil head is gunked up you should clean the coil. As for the SMOK TFV12 coil head that we’re going to clean today, I’ve been using it with clear juice for about 3500 puffs. The wick slots are all gunked up. If I were using dark juice or even tan juice, the wick slots would be black, which affects flavor a lot. It’s essential for us to clean the coils and get the flavor back again, and the cleaning saves a lot of money.
Things you need for cleaning:
Gunky SMOK TFV12 coil head
A ceramic bowl
Everclear grain alcohol
You’re suggested to use 75% alcohol. The higher the alcohol content the better because the more alcohol that you’re putting into the bowl, you’re letting the coil soak into the more efficiently that it’s going to pull the gunk out of the coil head. Don’t use rubbing alcohol or isopropyl alcohol though. Something like grain alcohol Everclear is the best to use.
Steps for cleaning the SMOK TFV12 Coil:
- Pop the coil head into the bowl
- Take the grain alcohol and fill the bowl up right over the coil head
- Let the coil head soak in the pure grain alcohol for about 6-12 hours depending on how gunky the coil is
- Pull the coil head out
- Rinse the coil head under hot water for 3-5 minutes
- Let the coil head sit in a bowl of water for a few hours
- Rinse the coil head under hot water again
- Wrap the coil head around with a paper towel and blow though it to get the excess water out
- Dry the coil, you can either put the coil in a bag with some rice over night or put it over a vent in your house.
After finishing all these processes, you’ll find the feed slots of the SMOK TFV12 Coil head become white back to normal again. The gunk are gone. You can go another week with this cleaning and get another cycle out of the coil. Basically you can get essentially 3 cycles out of a coil by using this cleaning method. Like we mention at the beginning, this cleaning method not only works for SMOK TFV12 coil, but also for all the other subohm coil heads in the vape market. This is going to save you a lot of money.
