The mesh kind of thing has come to our attention since last year, which was first used on RDAs such as Mesh RDA and Mesh Pro RDA. Then at late 2017 the first subohm tank that uses mesh coil technology was born, it’s the Freemax Fireluke Mesh Tank. And this year subohm tanks with mesh coils really hit the vape market because of their excellent flavor. No matter what kind of vaper you are, you can always find a good vape of your type. Here comes a new RDA that uses mesh style coil as heating element, the Profile RDA designed by Wotofo & Mr. JustRight1.
Profile RDA intro
The Profile RDA comes with a resin 810 drip tip pre-installed, and there’s also an extra 810 drip tip included in the package. Measuring 24mm in diameter and 32.5mm in height, the Profile RDA has a pretty standard size for an RDA with kennedy style airflow holes on two sides of the barrel. You can adjust the airflow by twisting the top cap section.
The build deck of the Profile RDA is a clamp system. So far for all mesh coil RDAs we’ve seen are designed to feature clamp system. This is due to the fact that we need bigger clamps to capture the mesh coil leads. The clamps are hold by two screws, one on each side. To install mesh style coil into the Profile RDA, you just need to simply unscrew the screw, put the leads of the mesh style coil into the clamp slots and tighten down the screws, it’s pretty simple to build on it. You can also build a regular coil on the Profile RDA if you want, it won’t be as easy as building the mesh style coil though and the clamps might hurt the regular coil if it’s got flat heads.
Between the clamps there’s a spring-loaded ceramic block on the deck, which serves to keep the cotton and mesh style coil make good contact with each other. It’s a brilliant idea to avoid dry hit.
The Profile RDA comes with a bag of mesh style coil sheets in the package. The mesh style coils are a bit different from the traditional mesh coil, it’s more like a notch coil/strip coil with bigger holes. They are made from Kanthal A1, reading 0.18ohm at resistance. You’re suggested to use the mesh style coils at 40-60W.
What makes the Profile RDA special?
Since we’ve already have a lot of mesh rdas out there, what’s new with this Profile RDA then. Well, if you ever use any mesh rda before, there’s high chance you’d experienced dry hit. Dry hit is awful when it comes to vaping especially mesh vape. You really have to insert an insane amount of cotton inside the mesh coil loop with other RDAs and that does not guarantee that you won’t get dry hit. With the Profile RDA, you seldom have to worry about that. The spring-loaded ceramic in the middle of the post would do the job, always keep the cotton and mesh style coil in good contacts. And you just get to enjoy the excellent flavor of the mesh style coil brings you.
