Lit RDA by VandyVape Unboxing & Review

Recently VandyVape has just released a new RDA called Lit RDA. Today we’re going to break it down and take a closer look at it. Inside the sample packaging the Lit RDA came in you’ll receive a Lit RDA. It comes with two extra 810 drip tips, a short delrin drip tip and a short acrylic drip tip. You get a bag of extra goodies which includes an allen key, a Phillips head screwdriver, some extra o rings, a Delrin 510 drip tip adapter, two extra long connection pins and a gold-plated Squonk pin. Also three pieces of stainless steel mesh are included in the package. And last but not least the Lit RDA kit comes with a quality-control card.

lit rdaThe Lit RDA is primarily made of stainless steel with 24 millimeter in diameter and 32 millimeter in length. It comes with a protruding gold-plated 510 pin pre-installed at the base. The solid 510 pin has got a protruding peek insulator and threads are nice and smooth. Down at the base it says the lit RDA designed and manufactured by VandyVape. On one side of the top cap of the Lit RDA you got nice and simple lit engraving. On the other sides you got a big diagonal slot that leads to the airflow. With the top cap you can choose two different airflow settings, diagonal oval holes setting and diagonal grit slot setting. There are 16 holes on each side of the diagonal grit slot setting, which is more for the flavor chasers that want smooth airflow. The diagonal oval holes airflow setting is for cloud chasers that want smooth draw. To adjust the airflow you need to line up the slots with the slots on the inner barrel. The o-ring around the inner barrel seems a bit tight when you first get it but when you lube it up it gets better over time. To adjust the airflow you just grab all the top cap and twist and turn. Whatever you adjust on one side, the other side is going to be the same. If you twist it you go to those other slots.

At the top of the stainless steel Lit RDA it comes with a green acrylic drip tip pre-installed. Inside the top cap you got a nice big beefy o-ring and the drip tip is going to fit really tight. When you first get it, it’ll be hard to get the drip tip out but when it fits in it looks great.

Now let’s take a look at the deck section of the Lit RDA. The Lit RDA deck is different from others as the positive connection is sitting on top of the negative connection and their clamps are spring-loaded. You can run in two different modes, mesh mode and normal coils Lit RDAmode, such as alien builds and fuse claptons. First of all we’ll have a look at the mesh mode. There’re clamps with the positive clamp up and the negative clamp down, they sit on top of each other so there’s sandwich in each other. There are two big connection screws on each side. To loosen them up is quite simple, the clamps are spring-loaded that everything is going to come apart when you unscrew the screws. Then you may insert one single strand of mesh through the positive connection and then each end is looped and sandwiched on top of each other down the negative connection. Once you have them settled you can go ahead and tie down those connections and you’re good to go. It’s a lot easier to screw those connections back down than you can imagine. Make sure they’re glowing from the inside out and after that you need to let it sit and cool off before you wick it up. As to the type of cotton for wicking, you can use cotton balls or cotton loops. When you wick with the cotton loops you want to be super tight especially when you use a mesh. The tighter that cotton fits the better vapor you’ll get. With normal dual coil build, one lead goes to the positive connection another lead down in lower layer is going into the negative connection and it’s the same on the other side and both leads share lead space.

Down at the bottom you can see the squonk hole. When you hit the squonk bottle of the squonk mod the juice will come out on each side of the hole where your wick is down in the juice well, which is about seven millimeter deep.

Thoughts

First let’s talk about cons of the Lit RDA. Honestly I only have one con for this Lit RDA, which is that I’m afraid the insulator is going to melt over time. I’ve beening vaping it around 60W-90W for two weeks and I haven’t had any issues with it. If you’re a high wattage vapor you need to be careful when using this Lit RDA.

There’re tons of pros for the Lit RDA. First of all the squonk mode works phenomenal. In drip mode you can just drip your juice from the top. The air flow for the Lit RDA is fantastic. You got two airflow options, one for cloud chaser and another for flavor chaser. Also the fact that you get three 810 drip tips for this that’s a big pro and you get a 510 drip tip adapter so for you 510 drip tip lovers you could use your favorite 510 drip tips. Another pro is the build deck, which is innovative. It’s easy to build on when you’re using it mesh mode it’s pretty easy to build on, when you’re using a coil mode it might be a bit difficult for new vapers to use because it’s got a share lead space, but for an advanced user it’s a moment of joy building on this. I haven’t had any leaking, no spit back, smooth flavor. The fact that extra screws are included is a pro as well. Build quality and o-ring tolerances for the Lit RDA is top notch.

The vape experience with the Lit RDA is pretty similar to the Bonza RDA, but still there is a difference with them. First of all the similarities is the airflow but it’s going to be a little bit different, because with the Lit RDA the center connections is completely blocked off, with the Bonza RDA you got slots in there gaps in there for the airflow to travel through, so the center connection is totally different of the Bonza RDA. Since the center connection is completely blocked off with the Lit RDA, it’s going to get hotter because everything is more condensed on each side. If you chain vape the Lit RDA will get extremely hot. With the airflow holes wide open, it is quiet but the flavor drops because you get more airflow. Take it a quarter of the way open, it’s super restrictive. Personally I like it half way open, It’s smooth. It does whistle when you start closing the airflow holes off but generally speaking the airflow for the Lit RDA is phenomenal. No matter you’re a cloud chaser or a flavor chaser you can use the Lit RDA.
